For 140 years Carl Fischer Music has been a leader in educational music publishing. Since its founding in 1872, Carl Fischer Music has remained a family-owned business with a deep and abiding commitment to sharing traditional and contemporary music with the world.
The Carl Fischer catalogue is made up of a large and diverse selection of music, musical literature, and pedagogy from premiere composers of the past and present. Our publications cross multiple genres, from Concert Music to Jazz, Classics to Popular and Choral while representing instrumental categories such as concert band, orchestra, piano, vocal, string, fretted instruments, brass, woodwind and percussion. Carl Fischer publications are available for purchase at over 2,000 retailers worldwide.
In addition, Carl Fischer Music maintains an extensive rental library of more than 2,500 works, comprised of chamber, opera, ballet and symphonic material. Also committed to developing new composers of concert music, our company is expanding its role in publishing concert music for all performance media.
Today, under the leadership of Chairman F. Hayden Connor and CEO Sonya Kim, the company carries on the traditions that have enabled continued success, while staying current with an evolving industry and changing technologies. We pride ourselves in being able to adapt to the marketplace and our customers’ needs when promoting and providing our music.
Carl Fischer Music’s corporate headquarters is located in New York City in the NoHo neighborhood of Greenwich Village. Our administration, editorial, production, copyright, licensing, royalty, sales and marketing team is located in this office, while performance promotion, rental library, and distribution are handled by Theodore Presser Company in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. In 2004, Carl Fischer Music joined forces with Theodore Presser Company under common ownership while maintaining separate identities and publishing schedules.
