Dear Orchestra Conductor,
I am excited to announce the release of our 2014 String Orchestra catalog. Our music is of the highest quality and greatest educational value. We know you will see and hear why we are one of the leading publishers of music for string orchestra.
The highlight of our music for string orchestra is the careful grading system we use to help you choose music that fits your students' needs, from elementary to high school levels. Each of our five series levels contain specific difficulty criteria that you can trust when selecting music. Every piece also comes with a numerical grade listed on the cover to give you more security in picking music that is within the reach of your students. Our music is also carefully edited by prominent string pedagogue Doris Gazda.
The focus in the Carl Fischer catalogue is our composers. They are the best in the world at writing music for school ensembles and we are proud to include their wonderful music in this release. You will hear great music from established composers such as Alan Lee Silva, Keiko Yamada, Sean O’Loughlin, Joseph Compello, Doris Gazda, Matt Turner, George Sweet, Bill Calhoun, Yukiko Nishimura, Kevin Mixon, Deborah Baker Monday, David Hinds, and Larry Clark, along with new composer James Meredith.
What sets the Carl Fischer Music catalog apart is our director resources. Online you will find free full-length MP3s and sample PDF scores of each piece. You can review the sheet music and listen to the entire piece on your computer or download the recordings to an MP3 player to help make purchasing decisions, as well as utilize the recordings with your students.
We are dedicated to providing you the best choices possible and we know you will enjoy this year's selection of string orchestra music as much as we do.
Have a great year!
Vice President, Editor-in-Chief
