New York, NY — Carl Fischer Music is excited to announce a new edition of Clayton Cameron’s bestselling Brushworks. Combining all elements of the method into one package for only $34.95 (DRM128), it contains the entire contents of the Brushworks Book/CD (DRM105 and DRM105CD) and the Brushworks DVD (DVD17), winner of the 2007 Modern Drummer Magazine Poll. Brushworks is the first publication to ever devise a system of notation for brushstrokes and brush effects within traditional percussion methods, created by THE Brushman, Clayton Cameron, who has performed, recorded and toured behind artists such as Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder, and Christina Aguilera. Brushworks gives players of all levels the opportunity to form not only an aural connection to the materials in the book via the CD included, but also to see every stroke and technique while bringing the concepts to life via the DVD included.
Clayton Cameron is widely recognized as one of the most innovative drummers today. His 1990 video, The Living Art of Brushes, led his peers to call him the “Brush Master.” The world heard and saw his talents in 1994 in his performance in Tony Bennett’s “MTV Unplugged Concert.” This live recording revitalized the legend’s career and went on to win a Grammy Award for Album of the Year. Clayton has toured with Mr. Bennett for over ten years and has gone on to keep time on eight more Grammy-winning CDs. While most would be happy to have worked with one legend in their lifetimes, Clayton’s working relationships constitute a “Who’s Who.” In 1988, he toured with the members of the Rat Pack: Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr. and Dean Martin. A tour in 1990 with George Shearing, Joe Pass and Joe Williams put him behind jazz royalty. Various television broadcasts and CD recordings have captured the Brush Master with other artists, such as Ray Charles, Natalie Cole, Sheryl Crow, Charlotte Church, Placido Domingo, Billy Joel, BB King, Diana Krall, Patti LaBelle, KD Lang, Bonnie Raitt, Vanessa Williams, Stevie Wonder and the Backstreet Boys. His passion for music and drums led to his latest innovation, found in Brushworks. For more information on Clayton and brushes visit: ClaytonCameron.com.
