New York, NY — The newly engraved edition of Arbanís Method for Trombone, edited and expanded by the multi-talented Alan Raph, brings the trombone revision of Arban into the 21st century, enhancing and expanding the complete Arban text, and addressing new skills and techniques developed up to current timesóthe first re-engraving since 1936. Arbanís time-tested pedagogical sequence has also been given a fresh new layout for easier reading and a lay-flat binding.
Alan Raph has expanded sections such as scales and arpeggios, and added new sections such as slide drills and contemporary forms of double and triple tonguing. Alternate positions have been updated and expanded. Sometimes F-attachment positions are given to facilitate awkward slide movements.
"In his usual manner, Alan Raph skillfully shares his expertise and experience in this edition of the Arban Method, ultimately redefining the gold standard in trombone technique development for decades to come," says trombonist David Steinmeyer, Adjunct Professor of Applied Trombone at the University of North Florida
Raph's exceptional edition also includes a CD with piano accompaniments to the Fantaisies and Airs Variťs, as performed by John Walker, along with printable PDFs of the piano parts.
