Anna Karenina, a new opera commissioned by the Florida Grand Opera to celebrate the opening season of the new Miami Performing Arts Center, is scheduled to premiere in April 2007. Carlson is working with librettist Colin Graham to set the story of Tolstoy's legendary heroine.
Also in fall 2007 the Skylight Opera Theater (Milwaukee) will present a new production of The Midnight Angel.
Bear Dance on Ute Indian Rhythms, from the opera Dreamkeepers, was premiered by the San Francisco Symphony in 2001 in a series of concerts for children. This work was also performed at Tanglewood in 2002, with Leif Bjaland conducted the Boston University Tanglewood Institute Orchestra.
