Quick Overview

Line and Shadow attempts to create a musical metaphor for these visual concepts. Closely spaced canons create shades and shadows of simple tunes, making the idea of echo and reverberation a musical analog to the visual resonance created by the way light is reflected and refracted by objects. In other parts of the piece, parallel harmonies create a different impression of musical shadow. While there is not any direct way to translate between sight and sound, it is always interesting to contemplate their relations.
