Ben Kendall
Ben Kendall is in his third year as a DMA student in choral conducting. Prior to being a Jayhawk, he was the choral director at Hannibal-LaGrange University in Hannibal, MO. He has also served as a Worship Pastor in several churches throughout his career in Missouri, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas, and Malaga, Spain. He also taught various courses and ensembles at Huntington University in Huntington, IN including orchestra, women’s choir, piano and voice classes, and many others. He has enjoyed his multi-faceted involvement as accompanist, actor, conductor, and musical director in musical theater shows such as: Oklahoma, Cinderella, 1940’s Radio Hour, My Favorite Year, Pippin, Little Women, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Godspell, and others.
Ben earned his MM degree in Choral conducting from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX and a BM in Music Education from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO. When he is not studying, practicing, or performing, Ben likes to spend time with his wife, Carrie and their two boys, James and Dillon.
