Graduate Internship

Carl Fischer Music is looking for an intern who is a recent graduate or graduate student and has time to work 3-4 days per week on projects in various departments (Promotion, Production, Licensing and Marketing). This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on knowledge and real work experience in the music publishing industry.

Projects may include (depending on department):

  • Proofread music and written material
  • Digitize sheet music and manuscript masters
  • Data entry and clean-up
  • Organizing, filing, photocopying, miscellaneous administrative tasks
  • Various support functions for different departments as needed

Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree, preferably in music or business
  • Strong music background is essential
  • Experience with music notation software a plus
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced skills in MS Excel
  • Familiarity with databases a plus
  • Familiarity with e-mail marketing clients, WordPress and iMovie a plus
  • Knowledge of Adobe Suite a plus
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Proactive and creative problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Writing and proofreading skills
  • Comfortable with multitasking and with learning new systems and processes
  • Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment

This is a paid internship. A successful internship may lead to a full-time position if an opening becomes available. Many of our former interns have joined us as full-time employees.
