James Smith

James is a music educator, music therapist, and composer from the Syracuse, NY area. He writes and arranges music for a multitude of ensembles, including school ensembles and chamber groups. James is dedicated to building inclusive communities through music. 

James received his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Ithaca College, a Master’s degree in Music Education from Kent State University, and a Bachelor’s equivalency in Music Therapy from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College. He has many years of experience working in public schools, both as an instrumental music teacher and music therapist.
