Jimmy Baas is a recently retired music educator in the state of Texas. He previously taught middle school and high school choir in Central and North Texas. He has been a professional accompanist for several middle school and high school honor choruses in the state of Texas, reading sessions for Texas Choral Directors Association, All-State Choir sectionals, a two-time accompanist for the Texas All-State’s Men’s Choir, and several musical theater productions over the years.
As a composer, he has music in the catalogs of Carl Fischer/BriLee Music, Colla Voce, Chorister's Guild, and Walton Music. He is also a regular composer for the Texas UIL Sight Reading Contest for Choirs through the RBC Music/Wingert-Jones Library.
Baas received a Bachelor’s of Music Education from McNeese State University, Lake Charles, Louisiana in 1988. He received a Master’s of Music Education from Lamar University, Beaumont, TX in 1990.
