Kevin Hilbun

Kevin Hilbun has just completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he studied music composition with Dr. Quincy Hilliard.  Kevin is the Outstanding Graduate for the School of Music and Performing Arts, Spring 2021 at the University of Louisiana - Lafayette.  He graduated from Carencro High School in Carencro, Louisiana. Kevin has explored many different forms of music, such as brass band, blues, Cajun, and Afro-Cuban as well as common-practice era (Medieval-Romantic) music. He has played with the UL Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, Echelon Brass Quintet, Latin Music Ensemble, Traditional Blues Band, Electric Blues Band, and a number of trombone quartets, as well as numerous local brass bands and funk bands. All of these different genres greatly influence the way Kevin writes and thinks about music.
