La Valiente

La Valiente is a rousing Spanish piece that combines flamenco, tango, and just plain fun that’s sure to be a bright spot on any group’s next concert. Written in d minor, it modulates approximately halfway through to a happier sounding F major, but as the piece concludes, students find themselves back in d minor. While there are quite a few accidentals, there are none within the piece by which students playing grade 3 music should be surprised, and they lend a nice authenticity to the sound.
1st trumpet’s highest note is G. 1st and 2nd clarinets, only, cross the break.
